Publication Plan
➢ The Workshop papers will be published as a special issue in the journal Surveys in Geophysics (Vol. TBD) and reprinted as a hardcover book in the Space Sciences Series of ISSI (Vol. TBD), both published by Springer.
➢ In order to meet the schedule for the publication we kindly request you to provide us with your written contributions before 30 October 2010 (deadline has been extended). This is the final deadline to provide your written contributions in order to meet the schedule for the publication.
➢ The conveners of the workshop will act as Guest Editors: Einar-Arne Herland (ESA-ESRIN), Ola Johannessen (NERSC, Norway), Glenn Milne (University of Ottawa, Canada), Hans Oerlemans (Utrecht University, Netherlands), Atsumu Ohmura (ETHZ, Switzerland), Gilles Ramstein (CNRS-CEA, France), Philip Woodworth (POL, UK), Philippe Huybrechts (Vrije Universiteit, Belgium), Lennart Bengtsson (ISSI), Roger Maurice Bonnet (ISSI).
➢ Manuscripts may be submitted in several formats (including : Word, WordPerfect, RTF, TXT, TIFF, GIF, JPEG, EPS, LaTeX2E, TeX, Postscript, PICT, Excel, Tar, Zip and Powerpoint. PDF is not an acceptable file format). Vector graphics figures are prefered (if possilble as an EPS file) because of their high quality. Vector images are generated using programs such as, Adobe Illustrator, IDL, or Matlab and are resolution independent (can be sized up or down without quality loss).

- Articles should be at least 4 pages long and no more than 20 pages long. |

- You can use the following templates for manuscripts submitted in Word (template) or LaTeX (template). |

- If you are using EndNote, you can download the output style here. |
| |
- Black and white and color figures/images are reproduced free of charge in print and electronic form. |
➢ Papers must be submitted directly to Springer's electronic Editorial Manager system.

- Click the “Register” button and enter the requested information. You will receive an email with instructions to verify your registration
(for new authors only). |

- Step 1: Click on the “Login” button and log in to the system as “author”. |
| |
- Step 2: Press Submit New Manuscript. |
| |
- Step 3: Choose article type: “SI: ISSI Workshop”. |
| |
- Follow further instructions as directed on the screen. |
➢ The workshop papers might not be restricted to the presentations as made, but might also reflect suitable aspects of the subsequent discussions. It is also possible to combine two (or more) presentations into a single paper. Authors planning to do so are kindly asked to inform the editors before submitting.
➢ Authors are provided with 50 free offprints. In the case of more than one author per paper, the offprints will be sent to the correspondent author. Additional offprints may be bought from the Publisher at the standard rates for the journal.
➢ All papers will be reviewed by a referee (who may or may not be a workshop participant) and by one of the editors.

Submission deadline: 30 October 2010 (deadline has been extended)
Publication: before the end of May 2011
