Second ISSI paper (including Moon seismology data base) accepted

Our second paper related to Moon seismological data is accepted to space science reviews. It contains detailed descriptions of the instruments, sensors and raw data,  a compilation of  body wave arrival times picks by different authors, an analysis of deep moon quake stacks done by three different teams, low level requirements for future geophysical stations on the Moon.

AND an associated data base of processed seismological data (travel times and stacks of deep moon quakes) + metadata informations: https://zenodo.org/record/1463224

Congratulation to Ceri Nunn and all the team members for this crucial effort.

First ISSI team paper published in Space Science Reviews

The paper dedicated to the internal structure models of the Moon has been published this week in the Space Science Reviews journal: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11214-019-0613-y

Associated supplementary material (internal structure models and seismic event locations) is avalaible here: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3372489 .

A preprint version is attached to this post.

Our second paper describing Moon seismological data sets and that will provide the waveforms of deep Moonquake stacks is under review.

Stay tuned…

Low level requirements for an International Lunar Network

Our team issued low level requirements that would ensure that the future geophysical sensors deployed on the Moon by various agencies or private companies to operate as a network.

Please find below the requirement flow down.

These requirements will also be available in our two companion review papers currently submitted to Space Science Review

One week meeting at ISSI Beijing

A reduced version of our team met at ISSI Beijing from June 18th to June 22th.

Despite the reduced number of team members, we made great advances on the two scientific papers we are preparing and the gathered data sets that we are planning to deliver.

We expect to have a first complete draft of these products by the end of July and keep our ambitious schedule for a submission of papers in September.

Raphael for ISSI team

PS: we also enjoyed fruitful discussions with Jinhai Zhang (new team member from CAS of Beijing) and obviously the chinese food and ISSI representative support.

Friday seminar at CAS in Beijing

We thank Jinhai Zhang of CAS to have invited the remaining part of the team available during the afternoon of our last day to perform seminars at CAS in Beijing.

Discussions with researchers there and visit of the laboratories were very interesting.
