Minutes
In total the COST724 final
report contains 51 scientific papers and two administrative reports
in the introduction and conclusions sections. The length of the
report will be approximately 400 pages and will be published by
OPOCE. So far the majority of the papers have been completed and
refereed.
Within this experts meeting
the participants finalized the papers that still needed some
editorial work. In addition the chairs of the action worked
intensively for the finalization of the Introduction and Conclusions
Parts.

All the scientific
contributions of this report (except from the first paper of
each section which is an overview paper written by the leaders
of the corresponding WG) will be submitted to a special issue of
Acta Geophysica. Iwona Stanislawska who is editor of the journal

published at the beginning of 2009.

an ISSI International Team we proposed to Space Science Reviews
to have a special issue dedicated to our COST Action with the

J. Lilensten, Modeling space weather effects in the ionosphere:
a review ii) M. Messerotti, F. Zucharello, and H. Lundstedt,
Advances in solar weather understanding, iii) J. Waterman, S.
Poedts, et al., The coupled system solar wind magnetosphere
ionosphere atmosphere ground iv) R. Vainio et al., Dynamics
of the Earths radiation environment.
Status of the ESW Portal
The European Space Weather
Portal (ESW Portal) is currently run on a server at BIRA. The
implementation work was done by BIRA (Belgium), INAF (Trieste,
Italy) and SRC (Poland). We are planning to maintain (and possibly
upgrade) the operation of the ESW Portal until the end of the Action
and use this important deliverable in a new COST Action on Space
Weather for further space weather services to the scientific
community, to the public and to the space weather-related market
sector.
Status of the proposal
submitted for the COST Action on Space Weather
Anna Belehaki presented the
new COST proposal on Space Weather submitted to the COST Open Call.
The network of experts is quite extensive consisting of 45
scientists from 20 countries.
