Origin and Evolution of Solar Magnetism

Bern, Switzerland, 21 - 25 January 2008

Objective:

To review our understanding and key aspects solar magnetism, its origin in the solar dynamo as well as its evolution and dynamics on all relevant temporal and spatial scales.

The topics to be addressed will examine the role of surface and subsurface observations, theory and modelling to clarify:

Celebrating 100 years of Solar Magnestism: University colloquium by Prof. Eugene Parker "The discovery and investigation of solar magnetism"
