Publication Plan

➢ The Workshop papers will be published as a special issue in the journal Surveys in Geophysics (Vol. TBD) and reprinted as a hardcover book in the Space Sciences Series of ISSI (Vol. TBD), both published by Springer.

➢ In order to meet the schedule for the publication we kindly request you to provide us with your written contributions before 31 May 2012. We would very much appreciate if you could honour this deadline.

➢ The workshop papers might not be restricted to the presentations as made, but might also reflect suitable aspects of the subsequent discussions. It is also possible to combine two (or more) presentations into a single paper. Authors planning to do so are kindly asked to inform the editors before submitting. The authors are encouraged to discuss the open issues and future recommendations in observations or models.

➢ The conveners of the workshop will act as Guest Editors. All papers will be reviewed by two referee (who may or may not be a workshop participant).

➢ Manuscripts may be submitted in several formats (including : Word, WordPerfect, RTF, TXT, TIFF, GIF, JPEG, EPS, LaTeX2E, TeX, Postscript, PICT, Excel, Tar, Zip and Powerpoint. PDF is not an acceptable file format. Vector graphics figures are prefered (if possilble as an EPS file) because of their high quality. Vector images are generated using programs such as, Adobe Illustrator, IDL, or Matlab and are resolution independent (can be sized up or down without quality loss).

  - Articles should be at least 4 pages long and no more than 20 pages long & 15 Figures.
  - You can use the following templates for manuscripts submitted in Word (template) or LaTeX (template).
  - If you are using EndNote, you can download the output style here.
  - Black and white and color figures/images are reproduced free of charge in print and electronic form.

➢ Papers must be submitted directly to Springer's electronic Editorial Manager system.

  - Click the “Register” button and enter the requested information. You will receive an email with instructions to verify your registration (for new authors only).
  - Step 1: Click on the “Login” button and log in to the system as “author”.
  - Step 2: Press Submit New Manuscript.
  - Step 3: Choose article type: “SI: ISSI Workshop on Earth's Hydrological Cycle”.
  - Follow further instructions as directed on the screen.

➢ Authors are provided with 50 free offprints. Additional offprints may be bought from the Publisher at the standard rates for the journal.
