ISSI Workshop
Solar Variability and Climate
Bern, Switzerland, 28 June - 2 July 1999
The variability of the Sun is well established, as well as that of the Earth's climate. To what extent the two are connected, in the sense that solar variability drives climate, is the subject of considerable research, and, in some cases, controversy. The proposed workshop is aimed at obtaining an overview of the current knowledge of the variability of the Sun and Climate and its possible connections. A further objective is the strengthening of the interaction between the two, often diverse communities of the solar physicists and the climatologists. Since the meeting is to be attended by members of both communities, it is expected that all introductory talks be held at a level that is accessible to all members of the audience and not just specialist in the field. The attendance at this workshop is by invitation only.
