Preparations before the 1st Team Meeting:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Analysis of one common data set by the various groups<br \/>\n1.1 Selection of three data sets from HMI, MDI, and GONG for analysis<br \/>\n1.2 Meridional flow estimates with time-distance helioseismology and, global helioseismology, and supergranulation tracking<\/p>\n<p>2. Creation of artificial data sets for validation purposes<br \/>\n2.1 Full sphere hydrodynamic numerical simulations of wave advection by a meridional flow with various flow configurations:<br \/>\n&#8211; single-cell meridional flow and multi-cellular meridional flow<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1st Team Meeting:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n&#8211; Presentation of methods used<br \/>\n&#8211; Compare results from common datasets<br \/>\n&#8211; Discussion on origin of systematic effects and noise impact<br \/>\n&#8211; Discussion of further comparison work<br \/>\no Requirements on numerical simulations<br \/>\no Requirements on instrumental knowledge<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>II. Preparation before the 2nd Team Meeting:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Setup of improved numerical simulations<br \/>\n1.1. Implementation\u00a0of systematic effects<br \/>\n1.2. Inclusion of realistic noise properties<br \/>\n2. Re-Analysis of selected data sets<br \/>\n3. Analysis of 21 years of helioseismic data by the team members<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>2nd Team Meeting:<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Discussion of updated results<br \/>\n&#8211; Conclusions on meridional flow measurements<br \/>\n&#8211; Preparation of long-term data set for studying temporal variation<br \/>\n&#8211; Discussion of temporal evolution of meridional flow<br \/>\n&#8211; Relation of meridional flow variations with variation of differential rotation and solar activity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The team will meet twice in Bern: Once for one week in autumn 2016, and then in early summer 2017.
