Even if trends, derived from lidar series, benefit to an auto-calibrated method, on decadal scales, instrumental changes need to be monitor, or to use 2 collated instruments. On a global scale, satellites providing temperature in the mesosphere, had a limited time of operation and small overlap periods, provide different techniques and may also experience drifts and calibration issues.<\/h2>\n<h2>Even if not forecasted initially, scattering satellite measurements offer a good opportunity to provide global temperature measurements. To insure global calibration the synergy of ground based and satellite series can be very useful.<\/h2>\n<h2>Tidal issue is the main problem to derive mesospheric trends. The CAWSES (Climate And Weather of the Sun-Earth System) project propose by the SCOSTEP\u2019s interdisciplinary program has organized tidal measurements through a coordinated world campaign.
