Workshop 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

First ISSI Workshop \u201eTowards a unified sea level record\u201c from Dec. 4th<\/sup> to 7th<\/sup> in Bern, Switzerland:<\/p>\n

From December 4-7 members of the ISSI International Team met for the first workshop. The main aim of the workshop was to bring together the expertize of all members and to define a clear work plan for the coming months. In a very intense and fruitful meeting members discussed different topics such as paleo proxies and tide gauges and their contamination through processes unrelated to sea level or the pros and cons of different global mean sea level reconstruction approaches. As a first outcome the team has now started to test different available global mean sea level reconstruction approaches in artificial but realistic ocean model fields.<\/p>\n
