Jets downstream of collisionless shocks are a major source of ultra-low frequency waves in Earth’s magnetosphere. These “sounds of space” have been made audible as part of an outreach project.

A series of videos about the sounds, research into their causes (such as jets) and nature, as well as their importance have also been produced.
