Test cases used in the Finite-Volume article: Magnetic helicity estimations in models and observations of the solar magnetic field. Part I: Finite volume methods

The results summarized in the paper are available as ASCII format.

Low and Lou

Usual case of the Low&lou FF solution with n=1, l=0.3, phi=pi/4 in [-1,1]x[-1,1]x[0,2] discretized with NxNxN nodes, for the following

In all cases, the same solution of the ODE was used, which was obtaibned using 320 nodes.

Titov and Démoulin

See Section 4.1 of Valori et al 2012 and references therein for details. The six tests cases can be downladed from this page, together with a brief readme file.

MHD simulation by J.Leake

Here are the reference articles for the stable and ustable cases. For this series of tests, both fluxes (at top and bottom boundaries) and volume tests are available:

Test on divB In order to study the effect of divergence, six model fields are constructed using one of James Leake's simulation output, namely the t=50 of the stable simulation. The model fields have increasing divergence, from about 0.1% to 10% of the total energy, and can be downloaded from this page.
