Dr. Mark Sargent

As ISSI science program manager and secretary of the ISSI science committee Mark Sargent oversees the selection and scheduling, as well as the implementation and budgeting of most scientific activities hosted by ISSI. Mark has 20+ years of experience with project development, team management and university-level teaching in the higher education/research sector. He joined ISSI in 2021, after holding a number of research positions at different European research institutions, most recently as associate professor at the U. of Sussex. Mark’s research interests are galaxy formation and evolution, with a focus on observational studies of the star formation and the interstellar medium properties of galaxies at low and high redshift (ORCID publication listing: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1033-9684).
