Meet the Faces at ISSI’s Front-Desk
ISSI is not only a hub of space science but also a warm, welcoming environment where international collaboration thrives. Today, we introduce our three stellar faces that guide you with your hotel room bookings and expense claims and other admin and logistics before, during, and after your research stay here in Bern: C. Baier, Xeila Monteagudo, and Dominique Fuchs.
Having joined us part-time while pursuing her law studies, Xeila Monteagudo brings a fresh perspective to ISSI since January 2024. A Bern native, Xeila is no stranger to the city with the medieval architecture and the picturesque Aare River. To experience it in full, she recommends enjoying a coffee at Münsterplatz, where the grandeur of the Bernese Münster and echoes of Albert Einstein’s legacy create the perfect atmosphere for contemplation.
Last but certainly not least, is Dominique Fuchs, who joined us in July 2023 and is now assisting our Executive Director, Antonella Nota. Dominique’s background is as diverse as the constellations—having worked at La Pergola Hotel here in Bern and previously with SWISS airlines, he’s flown across the globe and even kept his calm amidst the thrilling experience of a bird strike during a flight! His worldly travels have now brought him to ISSI, where he’s ready to guide visitors not only through the wonders of space science but also on the best ways to travel to Switzerland.
