In response to the 2025 call for International Teams, thirty-one projects have been selected by the ISSI Science Committee.
Newly selected International Teams in Space and Earth Sciences 2025
As one of ISSI’s and ISSI-BJ’s Science Activities, International Teams of up to 15 scientists address specific, self-defined research questions in Space and Earth Science by analysing data and comparing these with models and theory in a multi-disciplinary approach. The Teams work together in an efficient and flexible format with typically 2-3 one-week meetings over two years. Project results are published in the peer-reviewed literature.
In response to this year’s call we received a record 113 proposal (15 in Earth Sciences, 15 in Planets & Small Bodies, 29 in Astronomy & Cosmology, and 54 in Heliophysics). This constitutes a 50% increase in proposals compared to 2024. Upon the recommendations given by the Science Committee we are excited to announce that we selected 31 proposals for implementation: 4 in Earth Sciences, 4 in Planets & Small Bodies, 8 in Astronomy & Cosmology, and 15 in Heliophysics.
ISSI hosts about 80-90 Team meetings each year. The next call for proposals will be issued in January 2026.
