Dr. Siyi Xu

Siyi Xu, an observational astronomer, will join ISSI in Spring 2025. A native of China, Siyi discovered her passion for astronomy while selecting a major for college—it sounded cool, and it has fascinated her ever since. Her research focuses on white dwarfs: ultra-compressed stellar remnants about the size of Earth but with the mass of the Sun. She is particularly interested in studying exoplanets and asteroids around these stellar objects, which offer a glimpse into the future of our own solar system.
